| Crocodiles of the World is owned and run by Shaun Foggett. Shaun has been keeping reptiles for 10 years and has considerable experience keeping many different species. Shaun's fascination with animals, especially crocodiles, was obvious from a young age. In 2002, after keeping various reptiles, he decided to study the captive husbandry of the world's smallest species of crocodile - the Dwarf Caiman. With the help of the local council and other owners, Shaun was granted his Dangerous Wild Animal License in 2003. He was permitted to keep one Dwarf Caiman. Eager to increase his knowledge and awareness of these prehistoric predators, Shaun began to study other species and started to add to his collection. By late 2008, Shaun's collection had grown to more than twenty crocodiles from 10 species. |

| Over the following years Shaun's reputation as a crocodile expert spread across Europe and in 2008 he was contacted by René Hedegaard, owner of the esteemed Krokodille Zoo in Denmark and member of the ICUN Crocodile Specalist Group. René invited Shaun to Denmark to meet him and the crocodiles he keeps. The Krokodille Zoo has the largest collection of crocodiles in Europe (21 of the 23 crocodilian species) and is the second largest collection in the world. It was a great privilege for Shaun to meet such an inspiring man. With a vast knowledge of crocodile enviromentalism, conservation and protection, René has been a great help to Shaun in the expansion of his collection. He has and will continue to be, greatly involved in the ongoing development of Crocodiles of the World. |
