After the success of last year’s yarn bomb appeal (the genius idea of a member of our team and talented crafter of yarn), we decided to attempt to decorate the zoo again for half term with creative crochet/knitting that is either inspired by the animals at the the zoo, or a halloween theme. Whether you’re an individual, a family or community group, we’d really appreciate your help to get creative so we can decorate the zoo ‘yarn bombing styley. Now, as much as we say ‘yarn’ it actually can be anything crafty!!
With our Fright Nights coming up we want to start by decorating the Bistro where we are hosting ‘Dinner in the Dark’ and then the plan is to have enough crafty offerings to display throughout the zoo.
The crafty crocodile brief: Get creative and knit, crochet, paper mache or paint something spooky for halloween or go wild and create one of the many animals we have here at the zoo. This could include crocodiles, snakes, meerkats, clouded leopards, komodo dragon, giant tortoises or binturong. So many options!
IMPORTANT: Please don’t attempt to decorate the zoo yourself – we promise we will make sure they take pride of place around the zoo!
You can either drop off your creative pieces to the front desk at the zoo (from 10am-5pm), or post directly to:
Crocodiles of the World

*Please make sure all creative pieces are with us by FRIDAY 25TH OCTOBER 2024. Unfortunately we won’t be able to return them afterwards, but we will share photos of them taking pride of place on our social media.
PLUS…
If you leave your name and email/contact number – you will automatically be entered into our prize draw and could WIN a Giant Galapagos Tortoise Keeper Experience.
We can’t wait to see what you create…in the meantime here’s some inspiration from last year. In the meantime, you can book you Fright Night tickets here (plus Dinner in the Dark). But only if you’re brave enough to visit the zoo after dark…
