                    Wednesday 7th June 2017, 9am – 5pm

                               Crocodiles of the World

After so many requests over the years, we have finally arranged to present a one day crocodilian husbandry workshop.

This course is aimed at keepers and managers in British and European zoos and aquariums working with crocodilians.

Working with Crocodilians requires knowledge and experience. This course will give you the knowledge and understanding of crocodilians so that you can modify your existing routines, and develop new ones where needed.

The course covers the following:

– An Introduction to Crocodilian Species and Biology

– Exhibit Design for Crocodilians

– Species Recommendations for different collections

– Nutrition of Crocodilians

– Practical Handling session

– Behavioural Management of Crocodilians

– An overview of breeding, training, transporting and health issues of crocodilians

– Use of crocodilians in Zoo Educational programs

– Update on Crocodilian Conservation

– Tour of our facility

There is a lot of ground to cover in this course, so it is a full day’s duration, with both classroom and practical elements.

The idea is to build a strong foundation of knowledge and skills that can be utilised immediately within your collection.

Date: Wednesday 7th June, 2017

Time: 9am – 5pm

Cost: £170 per person – includes notes, snacks and lunch.
