'Croc Man' Shaun Foggett

The Aussies had Steve Irwin, the Americans have Brady Barr, India has Rom Whitaker, and now here in the UK, we have 'Croc Man' Shaun Foggett.

Worldwide recognition

Shaun achieved worldwide fame from the television series 'Croc Man', an internationally broadcast wildlife documentary series which followed his efforts to open the UK's first crocodile zoo.

Croc Man premiered on the Discovery Channel on February 16, 2011 and and went on to air on Channel 5 in August 2011, drawing a peak audience of more than 1 million viewers for its final episode.

Achieving the dream

With the support and encouragement of friends and family, Shaun went on to achieve his dream and opened Crocodiles of the World, the UK's first and only crocodile zoo. Home to more than 60 of these extraordinary creatures, representing 12 of the world's 23 species, Crocodiles of the World holds a large and diverse collection. Today it is the largest crocodile collection in the United Kingdom.

Notable successes

Since opening the zoo in February 2011, Shaun has become the first private breeder to hatch a clutch of West African dwarf crocodiles. He is currently exhibiting the UK's largest group of Nile crocodiles and Crocodiles of the World is still the only place in the UK where you can see Black caimans and Siamese crocodiles.

The future

The realisation of a lifelong dream, Crocodiles of the World is a place where you can interact with these incredible animals in total safety. Sparking the interest and curiosity of visitors of all ages, Shaun's ultimate goal is to prove to people that these formidable creatures are much more than just a danger lurking in the water.
